Membership Study Committee C5 is CIGRE’s Markets Study Committee. C5 is composed of Chairman Olav Bjarte Fosso (Norway), Secretary Alain Taccoen (France), 24 Regular Members and 14 Observer Members. For 2009 - 2010, C5 has representatives from 38 countries: Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Brazil, Canada, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Egypt, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungry, India, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Macedonia, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Russia, Slovenia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States of America. Representatives are made by appointment. They are nominated on the even-numbered years by their respective National Committees. The nominees are reviewed by the CIGRE Administrative Council and selected based on the recommendations of the Study Committee Chairman in conjunction with the CIGRE Technical Committee Chairman and the CIGRE Secretary General.
